Dropping Inn is seeking applications for a Head Chef at Urban Grind. This is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark in a true Wanaka staple!
Standing proudly on Ardmore Street since 2011, Urban Grind provides excellent casual dining within a modern metro setting. Open 7 days a week from 7.30am for that perfect grind, our friendly staff serve espresso coffee, excellent food, craft beer, and local wines.
This role is full-time & permanent. To successfully lead the team, you will need to be available for a mix of both day and evening shifts, including weekends.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Menu development, costing and implementation
* Training and development of kitchen team
* Responsible for efficiencies of service and prep time
* Manage ordering, cost control & stocktake/stock rotation
* Quality control to a consistently excellent standard
* Kitchen cleanliness and hygiene – compliance with health & safety standards
* Overall kitchen profitability
What would make you a great fit for the role;
*Ability to manage, lead and train kitchen staff.
*Reliable, organised, quick, and the ability to multi-task with a cool head under pressure.
*Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and organise the team as well as work with the other departments to ensure everyone succeeds.
*Good personal presentation, good time management and the ability to work in an organised and professional manner.
*Knowledge of relevant hygiene legislative regulations and codes of practice.
*Sound knowledge and understanding of kitchen costs and inventory.
*Capable of managing stocktakes.
*Be hard working, motivated and passionate about food.
*Previous function experience
*Previous Head Chef experience preferred
Remuneration will be in line with the successful applicant’s previous experience.
