We are seeking a Duty Manager to join our team at Hawea Hotel, a local hotel located in the stunning lakeside town of Lake Hāwea, New Zealand. As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day service operations of the Restaurant & Bar at the Hotel, ensuring that guests receive the highest level of service and satisfaction.
- Supervise and manage the front-of-house staff
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as instructed
- Ensure all food & beverage items are served and/or prepared to company standards
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels on each shift as the Duty Manager
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner
- Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene and company policies
- Assist the FOH Manager in conducting regular training sessions for staff to improve their skills and knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Duty Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Sound knowledge of basic hotel operations (or the desire to learn)
e.g. front desk and basic maintenance
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
